I also have encountered the bug where I am typing a tweet and lose it when there is a refresh. One feature that would be nice is when I am viewing direct messages there would be an icon that I could click on that would allow me to respond directly. I don't know if that can be done in Twitbin itself or if it would open up a browser window like when you click on a person's name.
