Firefox 3.0b4 support.
So we decided to publicly release our latest plugin which offers support for the latest firefox beta release. There are a number of bugs in it, and we highly recommend you sending them to us, either via this post or via twitter (@twitbin).
So you can grab the xpi directly from the homepage whenever you feel like it.
Cheers,
Brian

This extension appears to be spyware. When active, it phones home to http://www.quantcast.com–the site of an “Internet Ratings Service”, every time you access a web page.

Rob,
We removed the quantcast stuff last night. i did not realize it was tracking anything beyond hits to the page (twitbin.com/beta)
Sorry for the confusion.

I wish the links to my friends’ profiles would open in the same window (a different tab perhaps?) but not in a whole new firefox window.

Also, the timer is kaput I think. Something I posted a second ago, shows up as having been posted ’13s Ago’

TwitBin seems to have a URL shortening issue. While the URL looks neat as the ‘link >>’ in TwitBin, elsewhere it shows as full and not snipped like Twhirl does.

I keep getting the error about maximum errors…as soon as I log on.
Any suggestions?

the shortcut to open the sidebar for twitbin is Ctrl+Shift+M but now that seems to be a Firefox shortcut to merge windows. Might be smart to change the shortcut for the next version of twitbin.

I’d love to see support for paging so I can go past the most recent 18 or so tweets.

In previous releases, I was able to open links from inside Twittbin in new tabs. Now when I open a link it loads in whatever tab is currently open, and when I click on Twitter names, it opens in a new window versus in a new tab. I’s much rather have it opening in new tabs, so if you could try and get that going for the next version that would be great. And I got the current version of Twittbin working with Firefox 3 RC1 by unzipping the xpi, going to the install.rdf, and changing to 3.0, as opposed to 3.0B5. Then zip it back up, change the extension to xpi as opposed to zip, and you’re good to go!

The last comment didn’t post what was inside the brackets. My final lines should read: And I got the current version of Twittbin working with Firefox 3 RC1 by unzipping the xpi, going to the install.rdf, and changing em:maxVersion to 3.0, as opposed to 3.0B5. Then zip it back up, change the extension to xpi as opposed to zip, and you’re good to go!

Twihrl Alternative Twitbin…

What Ian L said. Opening links in the current tab is VERY annoying. Please try to change this. Thank you.
