About the maximum requests issue

Some of you may have noticed that we’ve put in a new alert to notify you when you’ve exceeded the maximum requests threshold given to us by Twitter. This means we are allowed to make 70 api calls per hour, per user. So there are a couple ways you can solve this issue, easiest is to reduce your refresh frequency to 10 minutes instead of 3 (we’ll add a 5 minute and 7 minute intervals later today), the other way to solve it is to just leave twitbin open, as it reduces the calls to twitter (we close the session each time you close/open the window).

We’re going to work on reducing the number of requests, so you are less likely to run over the limit, but please bare with us for the time being.

    Dear Twitbin Developers,

Today, Halloween Day, I cannot twit from twitbin. Is there a witch on my sidebar preventing my twitbin from communicating with twitter.com? Thanks for your attention.

Please be more explicit: do we need to reinstall? Because I don’t see 5 or 7 minutes, only 3–which will be deleted, I assume, as it can’t be sustained.

Moreover, I can’t neither twitter nor see my friends’ messages. In fact, I can only see the public timeline, and it’s been like this for days.

I can only see the public timeline, too. I’ve set the refresh rate to 10 mins. but I still get that “Unfortunately you’ve exceeded Twitter’s maximum hourly requests. Please check back in a bit.” message right when I sign on - how can I exceed anything if I’ve JUST logged on?

  4. JB Says:

Yeah, I got it after just logging on as well. No way did I go beyond the limited API calls. Something is wrong.

  5. JS Says:

Twitbin problems: Script keeps stopping on the page since latest Firefox upgrade.

Its still happening, i see people posted here in Feb and now its march and still I’m getting this. Anyone have any idea how to cure this? Theres no way I can exceed this limit either. Will reinstalling it work?
